Exploring Office 2010

Office 2010 has experienced some improvements and additional features. One of them is a new appearance of video editing feature in Ms. PowerPoint and Ms. Outlook. You can see this software is not much different with the Office 2007, the grouping files system with tab style is still there. There is only a little modification on Office logo item that have replaced in left-up corner of our screen, now the Microsoft have been replacing the item with File menu item.

When we are click the File tab, Office will bring us to the “Backstage” appearance. This appearance will cover our display so we cannot see the document that we are doing, and we will see any important information about the document instead. This tab also provides us some standard options like save and print.


For example, when you have clicked print menu in tab file, Office will displaying the preview of your document so you can correct and re-setup your document directly from the preview menu before you print it.
The copy-paste menu also have modified slightly. Commonly, when we are pasting some parts of text or anything else, Office will display the entire copied directly. Office 2010 is not using this system anymore. The Office 2010 will give us some options like paste with its original format (font, bold, italic, etc), paste with our current format, and the last is paste only text without any picture or anything else.

The biggest modification of Office 2010 is on the Outlook 2010. The Outlook 2010 is not use bar menu anymore now. The Office 2010 has changed Outlook 2010 so it has same appearance with another application. The new Outlook 2010 has five tabs; File, Home, Send/Receive, Folder, and View. By these tabs, we will able to access the features in Outlook 2010 easily.

Office 2010 also has changed the serve of email at Outlook 2010. The email has displayed in thread form so this is almost same with Outlook for Mobile now. By this thread system, you can show any relate emails when you click an email. This will make us easy to find our dialogue history.

Ms. Word also have experienced modify. You can add some special effects like mirror effect, light, shadow, and any other effects. You also can take screenshot the screen directly from your document with Insert-Screenshot menu. In addition, you are able to take a picture like as you use the Snipping Tools at Windows 7.
At Excel, there only a little additional at there. This is about a small chart in Sparklines. A feature to displaying a chart based on the data on its file. There also changes at format features, this feature has been equipped with some new icons and new styles.

At PowerPoint 2010, the changes are more about the video setup. This application makes us able to do editing video with cutting and compression. You also are able to control video for presentation with using pause, rewind, fast/forward, and any other buttons. In addition, you also can add some videos from network like Youtube to your presentation with this application.
